For the event which opened the "year of Goethe" 1999 in Frankfurt, I realized the installation "Recht-Egg-Klang-Bild". The town had asked artists to express themselves
about the theme of "Marguerite" in the drama "Faust" by Goethe.

I referred to the scene called "in the prison" which is closing the first part of the drama. Marguerite, refusing to follow Faust and the Devil, sees her soul saved by celestial forces.

I wanted to present to the public "contemporary Marguerites" and decided to show a series of portraits of women in prison. I took instant pictures and worked them in a computer.
To the obtained visual testimony was added another dimension, sonorous this one : my interlocutors had answered the Questionnaire of Proust.

The recording of their answers , after editing, came to complete the visual support (composed by each face reproduced 960 times) and gave it an inner and intimate "Pendant" to that series of portraits.
